Community Action for Black Lives Matter

Community Action for Black Lives Matter - a project of the Mount Pleasant Area Diversity Group

We are a multiracial group working locally to create a world that values and embraces the lives of people of color.

We are acting locally.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in Community Action for Black Lives Matter. We've been busy. In Fall 2015, we held our first community dialogue, and the decision was clear: we needed to organize for action right here in our community. Based on the conversation that first night, we organized four action teams, and thanks to the work of everyone who has come to participate throughout the year, we have made some concrete moves towards the vision of a safer, more welcoming, more inclusive Mount Pleasant area.

We have an ongoing partnership with the student-led organization Black Lives Matter - CMU Chapter.  You can follow the CMU student organization on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

We typically have group meetings once a month where you can get involved with an action team. For upcoming meeting times and locations, follow us on our email list or Twitter.
